I have spent hours scouring the internet and selected items for young and beginning archers available at Amazon based on their suitability, availability and ability to get them by Christmas. The items are divided up into “must haves”, “should haves” and “could haves” and a few stocking stuffers for archers who may already have the basics covered. Let’s get started!

Archery Must Haves
It’s just not archery without the bow and arrows. Below are a few picks that will cover new archers of all ages.
Bows and Bow Kits
Genesis Original Kit
A great place to start for archers of all ages, the Genesis Original Kit comes with a bow, arrows, quiver and arm guard. Available in right or left hand versions this bows’s unique design allows it to be safely used by archers with a draw length of 18″ to 30″. The bow’s zero let-off, and adjustable weight allow for a customizable and comfortable user experience for everyone in family with the same bow.
Sanlida Noble Standard Target Archery Beginner Recurve Bow
Available in many sizes and draw weights, we are going to focus on only 3. I recommend the 48″ bow in 10-14 lbs. draw weight for the youngest archers with a draw length of 22″ or less. The 54″ bow in 16-20 lbs range for archers with a draw length of 22″ to 26″. And the 62″ version in the 24-28 lbs range for archers with a draw length of 26″ and up. A word a warning, the 500 spine arrows in this kit should work well with the 62″ bow, but would be ill suited to the 48′ and 54″ version. They will be too heavy and too stiff. This is the curse of most bow kits, the arrows are selected to be safe to shoot with the stronger bows, not all the bows. The will still shoot from the smaller bows, but you may want to select more appropriate arrows at some point. The Salinda Kit is only available in a right handed version.

Archery can be a simple or complex as you choose to make it. Stick with the “must haves” for new archers and move to the “should” and “could haves” for archers with the basic gear already. May Santa bring all the youth and beginning archers in your life the gear they need to have an archery filled New Year! Merry Christmas!
